THECONCEPT
Keeping with the etymology of the neighborhood, we maintained the facade but brought it into the present day through a modern corniche, minimalist window frames and a bright red-orange brick. Throughout the interiors, an intentional use of accent materials brings the character of the neighborhood to the living spaces. The lobby invites you into a warm area with monochromatic tiles and earthy, muted tones. In the apartments, every floor has a beautiful fireplace, which is set into a wall of decorative cement tiles. Next to it, a custom German kitchen with wood finishes, a cozy island and accent lighting with brass finishes to tie it all together.
The expansive bedrooms have a french door with an exterior window that closes off the balcony, allowing for outdoor experience even in the winter months. Every bathroom has its own unique elements and statement tiles. The full bathroom uses brass while the master bathroom is fit with black fixtures, balancing the contemporary with the traditional. The indulgent freestanding tub in the master bathroom keeps in line with the traditional charm, without compromising on comfort.

THESTRUCTURE
The common areas such as the wellness room, private storage and outdoor spaces are serene, contemporary and chic, using light, bright tones and wide open spaces.
This sense of openness and versatility is continued in each unit with open layouts, a study/reading nook, and indoor/outdoor balconies. The oak flooring, wood kitchens, and eclectic tiles give the property a charming personality, while leaving plenty of room for personalization.
THEOUTCOME
Clinton Hill is known for its classic brownstones, wide streets and quiet neighborhoods. Bringing a touch of contemporary refinement while adding some warm elements, we elevated this brownstone to accommodate 4 flexible, functional units that sold through within four weeks - a record time. Conserving the total exterior brought forward the elegance and integrity of the traditional brownstone and its place in the surrounding neighborhood.
At the same time, we renovated the interiors with open layouts, high ceilings with delicate exposed beams, and soft details such as cement tiles that bring a sense of character and charm to corners of the unit. Small surprises throughout while upholding the sophistication of the architectural roots of the building elevates the value of the property and informs every design decision, bringing a sense of personalization to each unit in this building.
