PROJECT
LORIMER

Condominium in Brooklyn, New York

The Spatial Experience becomes here a quiet yet eloquent language, where each curve was designed to suggests rather than impose. This approach allows the architecture style to integrate harmoniously into its settings, while establishing a distinct identity in continuous dialogue with its neighbourhood and its community.

DESIGN GOAL
The client sought a design that felt subtle and refined, integrating seamlessly into the surrounding streetscape while introducing a sense of elegance and verticality to a low and narrow space.

THECONCEPT

The motto is simple: subtle does not imply stillness.

In a vibrant urban context, as New York City, this modestly scaled building stands as a subtle yet intentional response to its surroundings, Brooklyn.

A monochromatic palette of green-grey tones, soft three-dimensional forms and sculptural gestures were introduced to bring movement and depth without relying on contrast.

THESTRUCTURE

The project is organized around a series of three-dimensional features that bring detailed identity and substance to the building . Soft curves replace rigid lines, generating an architecture perceived in constant, almost choreographic transition.

At the entrance, a vertical column sets an upward rhythm that structures the building's main façade and this is complemented

by a wave-like canopy. In the backyard a curved bricked bench reinforces the continuity of the concept, inviting interaction without disrupting the flow.

Inside, curved corridors soften the circulation, offering a nearly tactile spatial experience. Architecture does not dictate a path—it suggests one—enveloping the user in a fluid sequence of spaces that capture light and amplify perception through motion.

Entrance 3D column is a sculptural vertical element that visually anchors the entry and draws the eye upward.

Wave canopy adds rhythm and motion to the facade while guiding visitors toward the entrance.

THEOUTCOME

The project demonstrates how architecture can operate within formal restraint without losing expressiveness. Through a choreography of 3D gentle curves and spatial transitions, a quiet yet perceptible identity emerges—one that redefines the limits of a traditionally rigid typology.

Choosing to work with a neutral palette and subtle 3D curves did not diminish the architectural language, but refined it. Each component—from the entrance to the interior circulation—was designed to suggest rather than impose, inviting a spatial experience that evolves with light and movement.

The result is subtle but noticeable if you have the eye for it.
